Ultra-compact stools fit daypacks; full-size models trade pack bulk for back support and taller seat height.

Rated capacity includes dynamic load—add gear in your lap and account for uneven terrain when comparing models.

Lock legs fully, test stability on level ground, then reverse the sequence without forcing joints past their stop points.

Match weight capacity, packed length, and seat height to your tent setup and how far you hike from the car.
